Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

My eBay labels don't have anything on them to indicate that tax has been paid but I can see the IOSS information on the order details on eBay.
I guess we'll just have to trust Royal Mail that the necessary data is being sent electronically.
I am thinking of getting a little stamp made up saying "TAX PAID" so that I can stamp all international packages in the hope that the foreign customs personnel take notice.
Overall, I'm rather pleased that I've managed to get the whole system working on day one. That's a big worry out of the way.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

1. mapping channels and accounts to Trading names - we only sell on Amazon and Ebay, and I used the default names ie IOSS Ebay, IOSS Amazon - I tried to add the bit in Tools.options.settings (ie EbayAccountname=Ebay IOSS, Amazon Account name=IOSS Amazon) - replacing with my account names.  I did nothing else on there,

I thought if you were using the standard name IOSS Ebay and IOSS  Amazon then there was no need to do the Tools.options.settings bit?

People on Amazon forums have been reporting a mixed response. Sometime the C&D label adds on the IOSS number others says it is not.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

@Simply NikNaks Yes you are correct, we do not need to do anything else, - I was looking at that when it would not work yesterday in case I had misunderstood that,

@jackthehat - I thought that, for the few today on Amazon I ended up printing the blurb off that I put below on small sticker and just stuck it on the end of the CN22 - in case Germany (that's where mine were going), get all stressed and try to charge customers.

I do think there are going to be some headaches for items sold this week that only arrive in EU after today.. where no VAT was paid / collected - (as per under old rules) - watch out for lots of customers on ebay and Amazon telling us they have been charged VAT :(

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Ive just tried my first import.
I upgraded PP yesterday, turned on the option to export Trading Name and have setup the Trading Names in C&D
When doing the import, C&D tells me none of the required fields have been mapped as expected.
However, on the drop downs to do the mapping the first column is 'Full Name' but there is no Full Name in C&D to map to - only a First Name and a Last Name column.
Where have I gone wrong?

In click and drop - name format section 2

Try looking at the bit above where the import lines are - where you had name etc - there is a field that says something like separate first name last name , or the other alternative is combine name (I’m not on that pc, so this is from memory) - change that field as it kept changing to separate for me when I was trying to do remapping today at first

As we currently understand it, you're not supposed to add the information to the label. It should only be submitted electronically. For eBay, Australian VAT ID (ABN) used to be displayed on the address, but that's now been removed.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

For ebay Australia now that the number is not on the label, do I need setup a Trading Name for ebay Australia now?

If so, will this only apply to sales on the ebay Australian site or on sales from UK site for delivery to Australia? Will PP change the Trading Name automatically if destination is Australia?

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Just add the Australia ABN (IOSS) Number, to your IOSS Ebay, Trading Name.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Ahh ok thanks

However, the 'automate import to c&d' no longer appears to be working. It is creating an empty file with just headers and no records. I have had to use the 'Export  for carriers' option to create the file instead, then import that file.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

OK the automated import seems ok now.

However, nothing is being entered into the Trading Name column.

Is this only filled in for International orders or should it always have a value depending on marketplace (e.g. 'IOSS Ebay') ?
All my orders today have been for the UK.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Has anybody managed to get the 'Trading Name' or IOSS Code pulled through to their standard Royal Mail labels in their Layout?

I think I have got Click & Drop working fine, but we send most of our items as Royal Mail letters, just using a standard Royal Mail label which we print at the bottom of our order sheets, this is where I hit a brick wall. I can't see any way that a customs department would know whether the order had come from eBay, Amazon, or our Website, and whether VAT had been paid or not ... So I think all our customers will get charged again.
I can manually add the IOSS Code in for each platform ... but this seems an unnecessary hassle. I can't see an option for adding it from Fields ... but I am hoping it's there and I am just missing it.

IOSS details are not added to the label, it is only submitted electronically.

As long as you have setup your Trading Names as described here, it will work without doing anything else.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Andrew, Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I have done that, and am happy that it is ok for Click & Drop.

I was just worried about the orders which do not go through Click & Drop, they just go as standard letters with little labels on them, and a separate CN22 customs label, there is no unique code on these letters at all, even on the customs label, so I can see no way of tracing them back and seeing that VAT has been paid.
I must be missing something, will start again at the beginning.
Thanks again.

If you want the IOSS details to be used, you will have to get those labels through Click & Drop as well.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

hi Andrew,

I was reading the Royal Mail site re label change and they state:

A small IOSS logo will be visible on labels - although this is there, for us and the majority of postal authorities, this is not the way we/ they will identify IOSS items.

Can we get the IOSS logo on the IOSS items? (otherwise we know EU posties will try to charge some customers, and just removes that bit making it easier for the customer

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Hi, we have set up as described but on the import to C&D (for an Amazon Germany order) the Trading Name column is empty. Is this correct?

Re: IOSS logo
We don't have any way of adding IOSS logo to the label, you'd need to speak to Click & Drop about that.

Re: Trading Name Column
If you see IOSS Tax details on the order in Packing Partner, then there will be a name in the Trading Names column.

Remove any custom mapping from Packing Partner, then upload to C&D again. You should see IOSS Amazon in the Trading Name column.

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Thanks, our PP settings seem correct, but there are no IOSS Tax details on the order in Packing Partner, so that is likely the problem. Is there a way of manually inserting the Trading Name into the upload .csv?

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Re: IOSS logo

I have discovered a workaround for this. You can add an IOSS logo to all your packages in Click & Drop.

If you go to Settings>Trading Names> there is an option to add your company logo to each label. I just knocked up a quick IOSS logo in Photoshop and added it. Now all my labels say "IOSS" with a tick mark in the bottom right hand corner.

If any of you want me to email you the IOSS logo, drop me an email at: sales@jackthehat.co.uk

Re: EU iOSS number needed on parcels come 1st July

Head up on this issue for missing IOSS logo:

Royal Mail have changed the service codes when you are sending to a country that needs IOSS - see here:
https://www.royalmail.com/business/inte … /ioss-faqs

So if you were previously using service codes IE1 (international untracked), MTA (international tracked & signed), MP1 (international tracked), MP5 (international signed) you should now be using DE4, MTE, MP7 and MP9 respectively

So, for example, when sending untracked to a country that requires a IOSS number you use code DE4, if the country does not require a IOSS number use IE1 as before.

By using the proper codes, the IOSS logo 'should' appear on the label.

I have tried using MTE instead of MTA on an order and there is still no IOSS logo.

I am worried that the description for MTE says it is for International Tracked & Signed Country Sort whereas for MTA it says International Tracked & Signed Zone Sort - but the weblink above and the helpline insist I now have to use MTE and not MTA

I'm just looking to make sure we can, but I think that we can make those changes in Packing Partner.
