Hi,
We don't sell many internationally, so don't really want to register for VAT in another country, I have heard there are some companies that charge you a commission to use their ioss number.? can anyone recommend a company that does this.?
Thanks

To be honest, if you dont sell much internationally then just send as you were before as Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) and let the courier charge the customer tax etc before they deliver. Just add it in your T&Cs that import duties may be payable on international orders which the customer will have to pay before delivery is made.
This works whether sending to the EU or anywhere else.
If you do want to pre-pay the duty on your EU orders, I know Royal Mail have an agreement with another company so you pay them the duty and a per parcel fee (I think it is approx £5) then you send using their IOSS number and the customer wont have anything extra to pay on delivery - but again this is only for EU orders. You still have to send other international as DDU.

Hi Niknaks,
Thanks for the reply, do you have to put anything on the parcel via royalmail or just send them etc.?
Thanks

Oh I should have explained a bit further...
If these are orders from your own website, then just continue exactly as you were before. No changes to RM codes or labelling. Before the parcel is delivered, the RM partner delivering will invoice the customer for the taxes due before they will deliver.
If these are orders from an online marketplace (Amazon, ebay, etc) then you have to use specific RM Service Codes and send the parcel using that marketplace' IOSS number - again you do not need your own IOSS number. RM will know from the Service Code that the tax has been pre-paid and is being sent under IOSS and the label is slightly different in that is will have the IOSS logo.

I've been considering Taxamo as that's what the Royal Mail page suggests. But I haven't got very far with this as I'm waiting for my website to be upgraded before I can do anything.
