Hi
This one is really urgent as I cannot ship today's post before the lunchtime deadline before Royal Mail stops working for the new year holidays.
Yesterday was all fine. Overnight Windows 10 forced through a Windows Update so restarted the computer forcefully without asking as usual. This morning I launch Packing Partner and as soon as it appears it crashes with:
"Packing Partner V3 has encountered a user-defined breakpoint"
After this it gives me the option to Debug the application or Close the program. It will not allow me to continue to use the program at all.
I have a load of mail packed last night but cannot print off any proof of posting sheets for them, or download any more orders, or even know which ones have been processed as they are all tied up in the software.
I have already tried downloading and installing an update then tried reinstalling the whole application over the top but no improvement.
Please can you help fix this asap.
Thank you
Nick

Same problem here when I try to log into eBay.

I'm not getting the same issue here, also Packing Partner does not have any 'user defined breakpoints' in the release version.
Windows reports any error it encounters as an error in the parent application. So even if the error is in Windows itself, it still reports it as being in Packing Partner.
Can you try running the main installer on another PC and see if you get the same issue: www.aimcosoftware.co.uk/download/ppv32release.exe

This is the Windows Update that has downloaded and installed automatically on Windows 10 last night:

The only other PC I have had PP on it previously so the trial license has expired as I transferred it to this one.

If you let me have the serial number (shown on the title bar when it opens), I can reinstate the trial.
I have a Windows 10 PC running now, to see if I get the same update and the same error.

I don't have another PC here to run it on.

I'm sorry but there is very little I can do at the moment. If the error is with a Windows update then the only answer will be to wait for another update.
It is very likely that this error has already been reported to Microsoft who will issue an update to fix it. Unfortunately they do not make it easy for people to report problems, so there isn't a lot I can do at the moment.
Packing Partner runs as a set of instructions that are given to Windows. If Windows is faulty or misinterprets the instructions, this can be the result.

Hi Andrew
My other laptop is also Windows 10, and as per my other post in the other thread, it is definitely a result of the Windows Update, and using System Restore I was able to temporarily rollback the update and get the computer working again for now. It will however force the update through again soon as Windows Update cannot be stopped permanently.
However we cannot be sure that Microsoft will resolve this problem and would suggest installing the Windows Update to check where in the code it goes wrong and see if there is anything that can be done to work around the problem, or if nothing else, see if it is possible to catch the exception and handle it gracefully so the whole application does not crash.
Thank you

Hello Nick
That is not possible with this type of problem, as it's not exactly an error. It is code in the update that should not be there.
Microsoft will be aware of the issue by now, as it won't be confined to Packing Partner. I would imagine they will fix it within a few days.
