Creating Shipping Rules
Shipping rules allow you to specify which carrier and service to use, depending on the details of the order.
Rules can include any details from the order, to make sure that your parcels are always shipped by the best method.
Rule evaluation
Rules are evaluated from the top down, the first rule to match will be applied.

Move the selected rule up in the list

Select the rule in the list that matches the selected record.
Tick records
Tick records in current view that match the currently selected rule

Rule List

The list of rules that will be evaluated to set the carrier and service for each parcel. The following rules will set the parcel type for Royal Mail, based on the size and weight of the items in an order.
Sample shipping rules

Rule

Defines the set of conditions that decide which carrier and service to set. There can be any number of conditions in each rule, but it is easier to organise your rules if each one only has two or three.
Field

Title
Title of the rule. This is for identification only, it doesn't have any effect on the rule.
Field
Select the field to be compared from the drop-down list
Test
Select the test to match with the text in Text
Value
The value to be compared with the value of Field
Mode

None: Only the first condition line will be valid
And: Both the condition on the line and the line below must be true

Or: Either the condition on the line or the line below must be true

Carrier



Show only Amazon carriers
Shows only the carrier names that are accepted by Amazon, in the list of carrier names.
Name
Used to update the carrier field when marking despatched on the channel the order came from.
Method
Used to update the carrier method field when marking despatched on the channel the order came from.
Parcels
Number of parcels to create when getting labels from the carrier. Most carriers support multiple parcels, but there are a few that don't. Please check with your carrier if you need multiple parcels.
VAT Exempt
Only applies to some sellers when using Royal Mail letter or large letter. You must be certain that you are entitled to use a Royal Mail VAT except service.

Creator



Type

Select the type of shipping label to create. Options are:

Royal Mail: Get a label from your Click & Drop account API
Other Carrier: Get a label from your carrier API

File Export: Create a CSV file export for importing to a carrier

Custom Script: Create a label from a custom script


Carrier
The carrier that will create the label. You need to have an account with the carrier, and have added credentials for them in the Credentials Dialog.
Dept
The department that you have setup on your Click & Drop account. This option is only available for Royal Mail labels. You must have departments setup on your Click & Drop account.
Service
The service to send the parcel by. These are different for each carrier and will change depending on the carrier you have chosen.
Other fields
The names and options will change according to the features available for each carrier.
DAP customs terms
For export orders: The recipient is responsible for paying duty on the parcel. The default customs terms are DDP, where the seller is responsible for all customs duty. Only use this option if you are certain that it is correct, as your customer will have to pay any duty before delivery.
